JCT600 VLS has supplied specially adapted Ford Focus estate vehicles to Silverstone racing circuit.
The new estate models, which made their debut at the C1 24 Hour Challenge, will be used as their medical response vehicles and have specialist medical refrigeration boxes installed as well as light bars and sirens fitted. They also sport both Silverstone and JCT600 branding.
Silverstone – the home of British motor racing – chose the Focus estate on the back of specialist advice from JCT600 VLS based around cost effectiveness, load space and the required electrics in the back to power a fridge for medical supplies.
JCT600 VLS won the four year tender to supply the 200 vehicle fleet of track, safety, security and catering vehicles in 2018. The racing circuit has already taken delivery of 39 vehicles including 21 Mitsubishi L200 pick-up trucks, two refrigerated Renault vans, one Ford Focus and 15 Renault Master vans and Renault Kangoo Maxi vans.
Lee Thomas, procurement and contracts manager for Silverstone Circuits said: “Our relationship with JCT600 VLS is excellent. They are friendly, knowledgeable and provide efficient customer service; always going the extra mile.”
Lindsay Francis, Customer Service Director at JCT600 VLS, added: “We’re proud to be working with Silverstone to supply their fleet; it is fantastic to see our branding on vehicles at the home of British motor racing.
“We’re especially pleased the medical vehicles were in use at the 24 hour race almost immediately after delivery. Sourcing vehicles for bespoke purposes can be a challenge but it is one we thrive on. We always aim to go the extra mile for our customers to ensure every vehicle we provide is best suited for its purpose.
“We’re looking forward to working with Silverstone over the coming years to upgrade all the vehicles in their fleet and continue offering the very best customer service possible.”
