Announced at the Geneva International Motor Show last week, the all-new Vauxhall Astra has been crowned European Car of the Year 2016. Leading the way the Astra received a strong 309 points and 24 top marks from the panel of jurors. Its competitors, the Volvo XC90 managed to secure second place with 294 points and 11 top marks and third place was taken by the Mazda MX5 with 202 points and 13 top marks.
