Our People: Meet Lizzie Mitchell
Lizzie is one of our fantastic Account Executives and she has been with VLS for almost 15 years. Early in October, at the most recent JCT600 VLS celebration, we had the opportunity to give Lizzie some greatly deserved extra praise as she was recognised for her unwavering commitment to the values of the team, the hard work and the consistent contribution she makes to the business. So, we thought now would be a great time to shine a bit more of a spotlight on her (Sorry Lizzie)…
Tell us a bit about you, your career to date
I have been with JCT for 14 years now within the Account Management team. My role has changed and evolved throughout the years to keep up with the ever-changing industry.
I started as the office junior, working my way to Account Coordinator and now Account Executive.
What is your role at JCT600 VLS?
I am an Account Executive for team 1 – I am the main point of contact for Fleet Managers and drivers regarding their vehicle orders and contracts. I help customers, providing support and advice regarding ordering new vehicles and also looking after the contract/fleet thereafter once deliveries take place. I work as part of the team to help support the Account Manager and provide the best possible service to our customers for their fleet requirements.
What does a typical day look like for you?
The first thing I do is go through all our team’s emails to see what has come through that may be urgent or a priority. It is important for me to have a plan for my day to make sure I go back to and help as many customers with their queries and requests as soon as possible. Order, quotation requests and support with contract queries/questions are a large part of my day but also working together with other departments and colleagues within the Account Management team is another important part of my day as this is key to bringing our service together.
What do you love most about your role?
I like that no two days are the same, something different comes in every day. As we look after a wide range of requirements in Account Management it definitely keeps the days fast-paced. There is always change and new things to learn with the ever-evolving manufacturer updates and improvements to the vehicle industry.
What is your career highlight to date?
A few years ago I did a sponsored run/walk for Race for Life and raised over £1000 for Cancer research, JCT were a big part of helping us reach this target and the support I received was amazing.
More recently we were treated to a lovely meal out, with the whole of the JCT600 VLS team as a thank-you for all our hard work. At this meal, I was given a special shout-out along with a voucher and two extra day’s holiday. This meant so much to me and made me feel so appreciated, definitely, a heartfelt highlight for me to always remember.
How would you describe the culture at JCT600 VLS?
It is very much a family culture. Everyone looks out for each other and we work as a team to ensure the best service for our customers.
What was the best advice you have ever been given?
We’ve got this!! Were a team!!
What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?
I love visiting new countries, anywhere with sun, sea and beautiful scenery is my perfect idea of relaxation and self-care.
My hobbies include walks, reading, baking and swimming.
